Mexico’s foreign minister Marcelo Ebrard confirmed more than 80 “ambassadors” were set to attend the Feb. 2 “Plan Sonora” summit in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora.
The site is home to national power company CFE’s US$1.615 billion photovoltaic (PV) solar plant project which is set to turn on phase 1 of the operation in April with 120MW capacity. Three additional phases to be completed by 2028 should bring total capacity to 1GW, currently more than any operational PV plant in Latin America.
