“Three Amigos” summit agreements related to energy
A White House statement of summit deliverables listed 28 items agreed upon by the three leaders of the US, Canada and Mexico, with the following tied to energy and energy storage:
An agreement to expand mapping of critical minerals in all three nations and establish a workshop for data sharing and facilitating joint initiatives operated by existing geological services agencies.
The mapping project is to give special consideration to semiconductors and other materials needed for chip manufacturing, as well as for lithium needed in rechargeable electric vehicle (EV) batteries.
An accord to coordinate development of a region-wide standard for EV charging stations.
And an agreement to develop “a North American clean hydrogen market,
