Digital exports between Mexico and the United States jump 117% between 2021 and 2022
According to a new report from Stripe, digital exports, defined as the sale or purchase of physical and digital assets across a digital platform, increased 117% 2022/2021 between Mexico and the United States. The news aligns with a larger trend of increased exports from Mexico to the United States, which recently allowed the country to surpass China as the United States’ top trading partner. Globally, Stripe has seen a rise in digital exports from industries that are not heavily digitalized like merchandise and education.

CNBV reorganizes internal oversight of crowdfunding platforms
The Mexican National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) will transfer the oversight of the body in charge of overseeing the country’s crowdfunding platforms (ITFs), the General Directorate for the Supervision of Financial Technology Institutions (DGSITF), from the Technical Vice President to the Vice Presidency of Supervision of Financial Groups and Intermediaries B (VSGIF B). The move, which will affect 63 entities, is intended to streamline processes. According to sources close to the matter, personal differences between the head of the DGSITF, Leticia Castellanos García, and the Technical Vice President, also influenced the decision.
