The FTSE-BIVA index closed on May 10 at 1,139.05 up slightly from its May 4 close at 1,132.29. The 12.54% year-to-date increase in the FTSE-BIVA compares favorably to S&P500’s 7.58% increase.
The MXN/USD exchange rate closed at 17.59 pesos to the dollar on May 10, from its close of 17.91 pesos on May 4, continuing its extremely strong streak.
The Mexican 10-year bond (2031) closed on Thursday with a yield of 8.746% with nearly the same yield of 8.745% on May 4.
The FTSE-BIVA Top Stock Gainers for the week were: OMA (+5.37%), ALSEA (+4.72%) and Volaris (+4.45%) and the Biggest Losers were: Grupo Mexico (-8.52%), Hoteles City Express (-6.81%) and Grupo Simec (-5.56%).
